Routine surgical procedures are normal day to day procedures. Typically our routine surgical patients are hospitalized overnight for 24 hour post surgery monitoring. The next morning one of our doctors preforms a physical examination and the patient is released that afternoon.
Orthopedic surgical procedures are less common and are much more labor intensive. This also translates into a longer recovery time for the patient. Typically our orthopedic surgical patients are hospitalized for 7 to 14 days depending on the procedure. During this time we work with the patients in the areas of physical therapy as well as pain management.
