What You Can Expect on Your First Visit
At your pet's first appointment, you'll be able to get acquainted with our team. We will welcome you and your pet to our Thomasville Veterinary Hospital Urgent Care + Surgery family.
1 | Arrival
Please try to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment time to fill out a New Patient Form for your pet. If you'd prefer, you can fill complete it online and submit it to us.
2 | Initial Assessment
You and your pet will meet your vet. At this appointment, your vet will review your pet's health history and discuss any goals you may have for your pet's care.
3 | Examination
Your vet will thoroughly examine your pet, checking their coat, skin, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, legs, joints, abdomen, and anal sacs.
Using a stethoscope, the vet will listen to your pet's heart and lungs. Senior pets may have other tests as well, such as blood tests and a physical check of their internal systems. If your pet needs any of their annual vaccinations or lab work, we will make sure they are up to date during this appointment.
4 | Prescriptions & Checkout
At the end of your appointment, your veterinary assistant will discuss any at-home care or medication instructions with you. You will be able to schedule any recommended follow-up appointments.
Office FAQs
- Do I need to make an appointment to visit?
Please book an appointment ahead of time whenever possible, this allows us to ensure we have room in our schedule to see your pet.
However, if your pet needs urgent care during our regular business hours, please contact our hospital right away.
- Do you have an appointment cancellation policy?
Please be sure to call us as soon as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This courtesy will allow us to offer space to another pet that may need care.
Please understand that while we do not have a cancellation policy, we do ask for your consideration in doing your best to respect the schedules of our veterinary team. Thank you!
- What payment options do you accept?
We accept payment by debit card, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), check, and cash. All services require payment at the time of the appointment. Unfortunately, we do not offer payment plans or delayed billing at this time.
- What animals will you treat at your hospital?
We provide veterinary care to cats and dogs.
- Am I able to reorder food and prescriptions with you?
Yes, with our online store and pharmacy, you can refill food or medical prescriptions quickly and easily. You can also call our office to place an order.
Please note that food orders need to include the brand and bag size.
Medication refills require the name, strength, and quantity of the medication. Your pet must be a current patient.
- Do you offer grooming services?
Yes, we have experienced groomers that provide professional grooming services in our Pet Resort + Spa. Everything your pet needs to be their fluffiest best can be found right here in our animal hospital.
- Do you offer pet boarding services?
Yes, we have a full service boarding facility for overnight and medical boarding for cats and dogs.
